The interest was met with equal measure. A future world (with ROBOTS) was fascinating, made more so by it being real rather than a fantasy formed from a single mind. Will would gladly listen all day should his companion see fit to lecture on the subject. It was better than being lost in one of his books.
Hana's question came as a surprise to the boy. Surely no one would be interested in Will Byers, town freak, from the sleepy confines of Hawkins, Indiana. Ravenmoore and its surrounds were infinitely more engaging. Not to mention unsullied by demons and death, as far as he was aware.
"It used to be quiet and safe. Before all the shit happened. Not a lot to see or do. Mostly my friends and me went to the arcade or played our Dungeons and Dragons campaigns. It's very different than here--- the technology isn't anywhere near this good and everyone knows everyone else." He wasn't entirely certain what details she desired. Will had never been given cause to talk about himself before. The only people he interacted with on such a level had known him for years.
He listened intently to the description of Hana's world. A twang of sympathy for her struck his ribs. Bright as she was every war had its toll. It did not sound like a desirable environment to live in even if the vestiges of his child self felt glee at the prospect of sophisticated machines. "I'm glad you're here and not there. Did anyone want to fight or was it just something you had to do?"
