Lydia was still shaking. She had been home since 7 am. And since then all she did was sleep and shower. She’d nearly forgotten about Stiles coming over, if it wasn’t for him knocking at her door later that night. It caused her to jump, which caused her to flinch in pain. Her entire body ached. She was sore everywhere. Even her hair hurt, which was unbelievable. Nothing about last night was pleasant for her. What made matters worse, was that it lasted all night. Up until the very end, Lucifer had kept his human face. But that last round, he made sure Lydia knew who was fucking her. The devil himself. Lydia would never forget. Her back ached from that brand he left on her skin. Again, she had to woken up by the knocking from Stiles. Slowly she came to a stand as she moved towards that door. She looked out of it. But since no one really had any idea what happened to her, she would keep it to herself. “Hey.” She said with that fake smile planted over her features. It was the best thing she could use to make it seem like everything was alright with her. Despite how broken she was on the inside. *** Stiles and shoved his backpack full of stuff and then headed off to Lydia's to play babysitter. He still thought it was kinda dumb, but whatever. The wolves were being wolfy and he had nothing better to do. So, why not hang out with Lydia for the night? He had knocked on the door and then waited. And waited some more. She hadn't forgotten, had she? He knocked again. He was about to do it again when Lydia finally answered the door. "Finally! I was starting to think you had been abducted or something." He walked past her and walked into her place. "So, what do you feel like doing?" He asked as he glanced around. The tree catching his attention. "I can't believe you did that whole thing alone." *** Of course she’d forgotten. But she wasn’t going to tell him that. She watched as he walked inside and came to shut the door and locked it rather quickly. But as she turned she came to glance at the tree. “It distracted me.” She replied with a firm nod of her head at the moment. “Thanks though.” She said, since she knew that was Stiles way of saying he liked it. As she came to take a seat, she winced slightly when her back touched the couch cushion for the moment. Really, at this point she just wanted a drink. “Honestly? To drink.” She said as she came to exhale deeply. Don’t think about him. He left, and hasn’t reached out to you. He’s done with you… So stop protecting him! Is all she thought to herself as she arched a brow and watched Stiles walk around the livingroom for the moment. *** "You should have waited. We could have done it together." It would've been something to do, but he understood needing a distraction even if Lydia shouldn't have been doing a lot since she just got out of the hospital. "You're welcome." He turned to face her, a smile crossing his face. "Oh!" He took off his backpack and set it down. He opened it up and pulled out a bottle of booze. "Had some left from the other night. Figured we could finish it off." *** She came to watch Stiles with that bright smile he had on his face. It made her smile, and for a moment what she’d done with the devil was more worth it now. To protect her friends. No, her family. “You are amazing, I could kiss you almost.” She said as she came to a stand. Her frame already moving into that kitchen as she grabbed two glasses, as well as her own bottle of liquor to drink. “Might as well drink this one too.” She stated as she came to take a seat across from him and pulled him down onto the floor beside her. Handing him those empty glasses as she came to place that other bottle down on the counter. “Thanks again… For spending so much time with me this past week.” She said with a slight smile on her features. “How are things back home?” *** "I'll take it. You can plant it right here," he said as he pointed towards his cheek. If Lydia Martin was giving away kisses, he was going to happily take it. He set the bottle down on the coffee table and then set his backpack off to the side of the couch so he wouldn't trip on it or Lydia. "Let's not get too crazy." He had to actually get up and go to school the next day and he didn't want to go in all hungover. That was not fun. He had been sitting on the edge of the couch, but he slid off when Lydia pulled him down. Now he was on the floor, sitting next to her. "Don't mention it," he told her with a smile. "I mean, what are friends for." If they couldn't count on each other then who could they count on? "Things at home are fine." *** Lydia came to make a slight face at Stiles. But shook her head with a smile. Already leaning over and placing a kiss on his cheek. “You are a goof.” She said as she came to pour the drinks into each glass. “I’m glad things are good at the house for you. “ She said as she nudged him playfully. Already she came to sip at the wine glass. “Well, I still have to decorate the outside of the house. We can do that.” She assured him with a soft smile on her lips. It would be another distraction that she would appreciate. Not only because of Mitch, but also because of Lucy. That glass of wine soon taken and sipped at once more as she watched him closely. “Well. Hopefully you won’t need to babysit me anymore. “ She replied as she came to a stand. “Here.” She said as she walked off, but came back with a bag of reese pieces cups and tossed it onto his lap. “Your babysitting payment.” She said with a smirk as she sat next to him. *** “I might be a goof, but I still got my kiss, didn’t I?” he said with a smile before grabbing a glass and taking a sip of the drink. “Yeah, me too.” He didn’t feel the need to tell Lydia what happened Friday night. So, he kept it to himself. He nudged back. “Not tonight! We’re supposed to stay inside, remember?” Not that he was scared of the werewolves, he just didn’t need anything else happening to them. They’ve had enough bad luck lately. He didn’t want to tempt fate with more bad luck. “I’m not babysitting. I’m hanging out with you.” He caught the bag of candy, grinning when he saw what it was. “I take it back. I’m totally babysitting you.” He opened the bag and then set it on the table, so if Lydia wanted some, she could get some. *** Lydia came to shake her head at Stiles. Already taking her own cup and taking a sip. A deep sigh escaped her lips as she kept that smile on her face. But she kept replying Mitch’s text in her head. That bastard told him, of course he did. And then her conversation with Cas didn’t make her feel any better. She was floating right now. With no one to hold her steady. So, green eyes came to look at Stiles for the moment as she came to rest her head on his shoulder. That drink in her hand still. “Babysitter Stiles.” She replied with a light laugh. But looked at his neck. “Jesus, Stiles.” She said pulling his collar down and looking at those marks Jesus can you and Cora being anymore fucking rough.” She said letting his shirt go as she took a long hard sip of her drink at this point. She needed to get Mitch out her mind, but knew it was impossible with Stiles here. So, she would get drunk instead. *** Stiles was too busy popping candy into his mouth to notice that Lydia was disappearing into her head. If he had noticed, he would've said something. "Yep, that's me. For tonight anyway." He leaned his head against her for the moment before moving away again. "What?" Oh, that's what had caught her attention. He was seriously used to being marked up. "Probably. I mean, that's nothing. You should've seen my side and back a few months ago." He straightened his shirt out once Lydia let go of the collar. "Slow down, we have all night to waste." Or at least until they got tired enough and passed out or drunk enough and pass out. *** “Jesus. You two are freaks.” She replied shaking her head at the marks. But when he mentioned his chest and back she arched a brow in his direction. Shaking her head as she came to inch away from him at this point. “Nope, not trying to catch crazy.” She said teasing him as she took a piece of candy and popped it in her mouth. Green eyes coming off her friend and looking out the large windows and out to the forest around her place. Mitch A light shake of her head given as she looked to Stiles. “Least when we had sex I didn’t mark you like that. That is insane, Stiles.” She added as she took that new glass and took a slower sip. Since they had all night. With that flashes of the night before came into her head, and caused her to shiver slightly. No, she wasn’t going to think. “I need you to help me get lost tonight.” She told Stiles with a serious tone in her voice as she took another sip. “I want to forget all the bad.” *** Stiles shrugged. He didn't care. Lydia could call them freaks. It didn't bother him one bit. "Aww, come back. You know you want to catch it." He scooted over, closing the gap between them that Lydia had created when she had moved away from him. "You and Mitch probably get freaky when you're together," he teased. "I know. But it's Cora. She's, um, rougher than you were." There really was no other way to say it. He grabbed his own glass and took another sip of his drink before putting it down and grabbing more candy. The seriousness of Lydia's voice made him wonder if there was something else going on. "We'll have some fun tonight. I don't know what we'll end up doing, but I don't you looking like this," he motioned to her and her own sad demeanor, "all night." *** Lydia came to laugh slightly as she shook her head at Stiles. “Actually…. The few times we did have sex… It was very… Passionate.” She replied thinking about the last time they were together. Twas the night before her attack, so it was a bittersweet memory. Still she came to exhale deeply as she looked over at Stiles with a kinked brow. “Sounds like you’re trying to sex me.” She replied laughing lightly. “I wish Mitch was here…” She said saying his name finally after days of trying to not think about him. She did turn to Stiles for the moment and smiled at her best-friend. “But, you are awesome to be doing this.” She assured him as she took a chocolate and came to rest on the couch while Stiles rested on the floor. She came to glance at the tree and soon outside as she looked over to Stiles. She thought for a moment. “Yeah, a night with Mitch and a night with you, showed me just how different you two really are.” She said laughing as she felt the effects of the drink taking over slowly. *** “Oh. Maybe the freaky comes later on,” he joked. He wasn’t exactly sure if he wanted to hear how it was between Lydia and MItch because it was still a little weird. “I most certainly am not. Okay, it probably sounds like that, but we’re both taken, so we know that’s not what I’m trying to do.” He leaned back against the couch and stared up at the ceiling for a moment before he looked back over at Lydia. “Yeah, where is he?” Before all the crazy started it had seemed like he was always right there with them all and now it’s like he had just disappeared. “You know I’d do anything for you, Lydia.” He finished off his drink and then poured himself another. “I really don’t want to hear you comparisons between us. That’s just...weird!” Nope, he really did not want to hear it. If she started, he was gonna shove his fingers in his ears and sing lalala loudly until she stopped. “Okay, it’s too quiet in here.” He dug into his backpack and pulled out his iPod. He turned it on, put it on shuffle and then set it down on the side table. *** Lydia just laughed at Stiles for the moment when he said he didn't want to hear how he and Mitch were different. Least that got a chuckle out of her. Which she needed. So when he asked where Mitch was she just sighed heavily. “I don't know… when I woke up from the hospital he was there and then we got into a fight over text because he was getting rid of the apartment. And I took it the wrong way…” she said as tears started to form. “He left… and I haven't heard from him since. Except this morning when….” She came to look at Stiles as she started crying suddenly.”Stiles… I think something is seriously wrong with me..” she said crying into her best friends chest at this point. *** Lydia laughing was a good start. But then he killed it with the next question. Maybe Stiles shouldn’t have asked her where Mitch was. It was too late now, though. “When what?” He turned and looked up at Lydia. Whatever was going on, it wasn’t good. He quickly got up off the floor and sat down next to Lydia on the couch. He put his arm around her and held her close as she started to cry. “Nothing is wrong with you. Why would you even think that?” *** “Because…. Lucifer asked for a debt that involved the pack. I refused and he brought up Mitch…. I… I slept with him… to remove the debt and for him to leave us alone.” she said as tears came down her face. “Something is wrong with me.. Because i just ruined any chance I had to be with Mitch. Lucifer told him and he… hasnt spoken to me since.” she said looking down with a heavy sigh. “Maybe I should let Hurley kill me…” she said as she cried again into Stiles chest. *** Okay, Stiles felt like he was walking into the middle of a movie when Lydia said that Lucifer wanted some kind of debt dealing with the pack. "Why?" he asked, confused. "And why would you do that? You probably gave him what he wanted." He shook his head. "Give him some time to process it all. You wouldn't exactly be thrilled if he told you that he slept with somebody else." The last thing she said, that wasn't the Lydia he knew. He pulled away, grabbed her by the arms and made her look at him. "Never ever say anything like that! You don't deserve to die. What is happening to you? This isn't the Lydia I know." *** Lydia came to look at Stiles and listen to him. But once he grabbed her arms and asked what was wrong with her, she just stared at Stiles for the moment. “I don’t know!” She said shouting at Stiles as she came to pull her arms away from Stiles as she placed them over her eyes. “I know this isn’t me. I’m not like this, and I hate that I am right now.” She said as she came to a stand and moved away from the couch. She paced around for the moment as she tried to think. “Ever since I meet Mitch, I felt full. Whole. Like a part of me missing was there and now… “ She said thinking about her conversation with Cas. “I’m just floating… Letting the tuck and pull of gravity take me wherever it wants. With no real direction.” She came to a stop and looked over at Stiles. “I didn’t mean what I said…. I just… I love him… I haven’t loved anyone like this before…. “ She came to sit back down on the couch next to Stiles. Brushing her red hair from her face for the moment. “I felt like I was home with him. And with him gone, I don’t feel like myself.” She said looking at Stiles. “Does that make any sense?” *** Stiles let go of Lydia, not that he had much choice since she stood up and started to pace. He didn't say anything, though. He just watched her and let her say what she needed to say. "Things are messed up right now, but that doesn't mean you need to let yourself go down this path. If you two are meant to be together, you will be. Just quit talking to that Lucifer guy. Stop making deals. That's the first step." *** She came to look at Stiles as she nodded her head. “I know. And I am.” She replied as she came to take one of those chocolate pieces into her mouth. Letting the taste calm her down a bit. Green eyes came to look at the tree and than over to Stiles. “Come on.” She said as she came off the bed and moved through the house for the moment. It wasn’t long before she grabbed two boxes from the attic and handed him one. Inside would be more Christmas decorations. “Let’s decorate the inside.” She replied with a smile on her face. “First step to being normal.” *** "Good. Great. Because I don't like seeing you on this destructive path that you've placed yourself on." Whatever was really going on with Lydia, he did hope she could get past it because it really was sad to see her like this. "Where we going?" Stiles asked as he stood up and followed Lydia. She obviously had an idea and he was pretty much just following. He took the box when it was handed to him. "And here I thought you were done decorating. I guess I should have known better," he said with a smile. "Normal is good." He led the way back to the living room and then dropped the box on the floor and opened it up. "Were you stockpiling all of this since coming here?" *** Lydia smiled at Stiles. He always knew how to help her. So he was going to get an amazing gift from her. “I went shopping this morning.” She said with a nod of her head as she came to look around and to the fire place. “We can hang the garland around the fireplace.” She replied looking to Stiles with a smile. “I want to make a heart shape over the fireplace. What do you think?” She asked as she brushed her red hair from her face and began to take out a few more items. Like mistletoes to hang around the house. “I know Gideon wants to do something for Christmas. But maybe we can do a pack thing here?” She suggested since she thought it would be nice to do something just them. Like old times. *** Stiles started pulling things out of the box and setting them off to the side. He wasn't sure what Lydia wanted to do, so he had no real organization going on. "You bought a lot for just going shopping this morning." He listened to her idea. "Yeah. Okay. Let's do the garland first and then your heart thing." The garland would be easy. The other thing. That was going to be a pain. "I don't see why not. As long as nothing else happens from now until then." He really hoped all the crazy was done and over with. At least for a little while. "Who would you even invite?" It was kinda hard to figure who was actually in the pack anymore since they all arrived in Preya. *** She came to nod about doing the garland first as she grabbed the hammer and nails and started setting them up. She was pretty sure ding the heart was going to be a pain in the ass, but she wanted to do it. “Yes, this morning… Christmas makes me feel better.” She said lightly as she thought about his last question on who to invite. “Well, you, Cora, and Scott definitely..” She thought about Allison for the moment before looking to Stiles. “Allison. And that’s pretty much it.” She said as she came to nod her head. “Something with the original four and since you’re dating Cora she comes too.” She replied with a bright smile. She wanted to say Mitch. But she had no clue where he was, or if he was ever going to come back. *** "You know what's going to suck?" he asked, glancing over at Lydia. "We don't have our parents here." Like, yeah, they've all been fine without them, but now it was the holidays and they weren't there with them. "Of course," he said making sure not to look Lydia in the eye when she mentioned both Cora and Scott. He did look over at her when she mentioned Allison. "Isn't she supposed to be coming here tonight?" He honestly forgot all about her until Lydia said her name. *** Lydia slowly stopped. She hadn’t really thought about that. Spending the holidays without her mom. Sure they did Thanksgiving without them, but Christmas was different. She came to look at Stiles for the moment. “I miss them.” She replied as she exhaled deeply for the moment and went back to working on the garland. A nod of her head was made. “She is supposed to. But I think she had class and was coming after.”She replied as she came to look over at Stiles and gave him another fake smile. “Come on, let’s make this the best Christmas we can. “ *** "Me too," he said with a small sigh. It was going to be weird to spend Christmas without his dad around, but he was pretty sure being around the others would make up for it. "Oh. Okay." He wasn't that worried when it came to Allison. She could take care of herself. So, he pushed that subject out of his head and started to help Lydia hang up the garland. *** Allison had stayed at her study group as long as she could before she had to head out, though she'd been distracting the others by constantly checking her watch. When she finally did leave, it gave her just enough time to get to Lydia's before dark, and when she found herself standing outside the door, she let out a slow breath before knocking. Everything had been a little weird for her since waking up in Preya and going through physical therapy - which she still had once a week but hadn't mentioned to the others - and she was seriously ready to try and just move on from everything, but it was hard. As she waited for the door to open, Allison adjusted the book bag she carried and glanced behind her at the scenic Everdale horizon. It really was nice in this part of Preya. *** Before Lydia could start with the hammer and nail, she heard a knock on the door. Already she glanced to Stiles. “That must be Allison.” She said as she jumped down. Already moving to double check and make sure it was her and no one else. Once she saw it was Allison a smile came over her face as she opened the door. “Hey.” Is all she said as she moved to the side to let her inside. Lydia did take note of the bag as she smirked even more. “How’s school?” She asked, since it was still a little weird she had graduated while the others hadn’t. But it wasn’t anything to worry over so much. They had bigger things to worry about. Like a deranged psychopath attacking them. “Just toss your bag anywhere, we’re Christmas decorating.” She said as she locked the door behind her once fully inside and came to look between Stiles and Allison. “You want anything to drink, Ally?” *** While Lydia answered the door, Stiles just stood there and made himself look busy since he hadn't actually seen Allison much since her arrival in Preya and just other things started to play out in his head and he had to shake his head to stop thinking about it. He didn't say anything. Instead, he started to sing along to the music that was on as he waited for Lydia to come back. "No matter where we go, or even if we don't, and even if they try they'll never take my body from your side..." *** “Hey!” Allison replied as she smiled back and stepped in, then made a face at her at the question about school. “It’s fine - I just had to cut short a study group meetup. Midterms are next week so we’re all kind of going crazy there.” She shrugged good naturedly and dropped the bag next to the door, but out of the way. “Christmas decorating?” Looking past Lydia, she grinned when she saw Stiles and glanced around. “Wow, you’re really going all out, huh? Whatever soda you have is fine, Lyds.” Heading over to Stiles, she pointed towards the radio. “Shouldn’t it be on Christmas music, too? To put us in the mood?” *** Lydia smiled at Allison, only to move off to the kitchen to grab her a soda and hand it over to her. Meanwhile, Lydia was drinking the wine that Stiles had bought earlier. “Thanks. I did the tree the other night. You and Stiles get to help with the inside.” She replied with a firm nod as she brushed her hair from her face. “We never really did Holidays back home, so we might as well do them here. Despite whats happening. No one is ruining Christmas for me.” She said with a firm nod. *** Stiles looked up from the garland he still had in his hands when Allison made her way over to him. "We just started. Lydia did the tree alone," he pointed out. He shrugged. "I could put Christmas music on." He dropped the garland and then grabbed his iPod from off the side table and switched his playlist from alt music to Christmas music. "Better?" he asked as he set the device down. Thrice's version of Carol of the Bells starting to play as he made his way back over to the fireplace. “Let’s get this stuff hung.” *** “Don’t worry - Christmas will be perfect,” was Allison’s response as she took the drink and sipped it, then set it down to pick up the garland Stiles dropped. “This shouldn’t take too long,” she said, even as she glanced towards the window, inwardly hoping that Scott would be okay that night. Moving to the far end of the fireplace, she started to carefully move the garland into place and secure it. “Is this where you wanted it, Lyds?” *** Lydia had noticed how Allison and Stiles weren’t saying much to one another, which caused her to raise a brow. But she didn’t want to voice out the obvious, so she just looked at the garland and around the living room. “On the fireplace.” She replied with a bright smile towards Allison as she moved towards the fireplace as well with them. Only to listen to the song Stiles decided to play. A smirk over her features. “Good song.” She said as she placed the garland up with them and started decorating that fire place. Lydia came to look at Allison once more as she looked out the window. Lydia soon glanced over at Stiles. She knew Scott was outside, since he informed her he would be on patrol, and despite inviting him in, the Alpha was on high alert with the super moon. “It’s best to let him do his thing right now, Allison.” Is all Lydia said as she moved to grab the edge of the fireplace. “Help me up.” She said to Stiles as she was lifted up and started making that heart shape with the garland. *** “Yep,” he said to Lydia’s comment about the song. After that Stiles didn’t say much. He just hummed along to the music or sang along while hanging up the garland. “Okay.” He put down what he had in his hands and then picked Lydia up the best that he could so she could do the whole heart made out of garland thing. “Hurry up, though.” He didn’t want to end up dropping her. |
