Who: Moira and Gideon
Where: Out in the snowfall
When: Friday Night.
What: Snow can be a trigger
Status: Complete
This week with Gideon had been an eye opening experience in physical sensation. Good physical sensation. Apparently, the large Alpha was very attentive to his partners...and randy as well. Moira wasn’t complaining, but she was a little relieved they were settling into something more intimate and passionate in lieu of lustful need. To be honest, what she liked best was being almost entirely engulfed in Gideon’s embrace after their antics. She was a romantic, what could she say.
Gideon was currently in the kitchen making dinner. Moira was setting up for a cozy picnic by the fireplace when something outside the window caught her attention. There had been some kind of movement. Her brows creased down as she left the set up to go to the window to see what was out there. With Hurley still on the loose out there this might not be the smartest of ideas, but something inside Moira told her she doubted it was him.
The curtains were gently pushed aside to allow her to peer out. What she saw made her gasp then cry out. “Gideon! Come here, hurry!”
***
It had been a while since Gideon felt anything for another person. So to be as intimate as he was with Moira had to mean something.
So when the young she wolf called out to him, Gideon placed the food on the burner that was shut off and came to see what she wanted. “Moira. What is it?”
He knew it wasnt Hurley, since he didnt sense anyone else around the cabin.
***
She turned around with a bright smile on her face for Gideon. “Snow!” she said. “It’s snowing!” Then, without warning, she leaped at him to be caught so she could claim an excited kiss with a giggle. “It’s snowing!”
Something about the idea of snow had her all wound up, judging by how tightly she clung to Gideon, the grin on her face and the tension in her muscles. “Let’s go outside!”
***
Gideon came to look at the snow out the window and Moiras reaction. With a smirk he came to watch as she literally leaped into his arms as he came to hold her easily. “Alright, go put on a coat.” He replied as he lowered her to the ground and moved to grab his boots and a coat himself.
Already he glanced in her direction as he waited for her to come out dressed and ready for the snow. It didn’t take long, so once outside he just watched her become a kid under the falling snow that surrounded his cabin.
***
She had her head tossed back as she danced around in the snow that was falling on her. Since there wasn’t much more than a dusting on the ground at the moment she was in regular boots, thick leggings, one of his sweaters and a coat, but she was lacking a hat, gloves and scarf. Moira didn’t seem to mind.
At one point she managed to collect enough snow from a bush to make a respectable snowball and launched it at Gideon. Whether it hit him or not Moira laughed and took off running for the trees. The joy that was surging through her almost made her feel like she could fly. Her laughter was muffled as all sounds were when it snowed, but then they abruptly stopped.
Images flashed in her mind and before her eyes. An evergreen forest covered in snow much deeper than where she was. Moonlight turned the cold stuff a pale blue.
Moira stumbled against a tree as panic overwhelmed her, replacing the happiness she’d been feeling. Now the snow that hit her face felt like small needles. She whimpered.
The same mound of snow lit by a morning sun but instead of white as would be expected, the snow was splattered bright red.
***
Gideon just watched as Moira was enjoying herself. But soon her demeanor changed as she came to stumble against a tree and whimper. Gideon already came towards hers. “Moira… Moira…” He said as he tried to snap her out of whatever she was dealing with suddenly.
When that didn’t work, all he could do was bring his large arms around Moira to hold her close. He wasn’t sure what was going on with her, but he would do what he could to ensure her that she wasn’t alone.
***
Moira clung to Gideon without realizing it and shook until the visions/memories stopped acting like a bad acid trip. Her fingers dug into his sleeve as her eyes stared widely at nothing. Eventually her shaking slowed, became sporadic and she squeezed her eyes shut. When they opened again tears fell down her cheeks.
“...someone was dead…”
***
All he could do was hold her tightly until her body stopped trembling. And soon she came to reveal something new. “Who's dead, Moira?” He asked as he came to shift and bring his hand to brush her hair from her face for the moment to take in her facial expression.
She looked scared in a sense, and Gideon wasn’t a fan of that look. “What happened? Talk to me.” He said caressing the side of her face with his thumb for the moment.
***
Moira sniffled as she huddled against Gideon. She looked up at him when he brushed her hair out of her face. She didn’t want these images she saw. They were memories. She just knew it, and something told her she didn’t want to remember them.
“I don’t know,” she said. Her voice was small, full of fear and anguish. “I don’t know who was dead, just that someone was dead. There was snow. A lot of snow. It was night...a full moon, I think. Then it was day time and there was...oh god…” Emotions overtook her and she buried her face against Gideon as she shook again, this time from tears.
***
Gideon came to listen to her. The way she was describing her memories it wasn’t anything good, and he had a feeling he knew how it ended. Already he came to tuck down for the moment as his arms came under Moira's frame and he stood up with ease, with her in his arms.
“Shh.” Is all he was able to say as he let her bury her face into his chest while he walked back into the house. Once inside that house he would come to lower her onto the couch. “Do you still want to remember…” He asked as he came to exhale deeply as he watched her closely.
***
It was really sweet that he just picked her up and put her places when she was tired, already asleep...or he just want her all to himself for a while. Right now, it was kind of lost on her, however. She felt safe...and cared for...wrapped up like this, which was a big help at the moment.
Moira wouldn’t let go of Gideon when he set her down on the couch. “No,” she said with a small shake of her head. “Maybe. I don’t know.”
***
He sighed deeply as he came to sit across her on the floor and thought for a moment. “If you really want to know.. I’ll do the thing with my nails.” He said to her for the moment. He didn’t want to do it, but things changed now and her memories were coming in bits.
Maybe doing this will allow her to get the full picture. “Only if you really want to.”
***
She was sad when he moved away from her. The temptation to get off the couch and crawl into his lap was a real thing, but she stayed where she was, shivering on the blanket. She wasn’t cold at all, however. She did extend her hand toward him, wanting the reassurance that touch can bring.
“I don’t know,” she said with a worried little smile. “I don’t want you to live with that. There were a couple of people who said they would look into how to get my memories back. After this, though…”
***
Once she reached her hand out to him, he came to bring his arms around her once again so she had that reassurance of touch from him. Once she expressed her feelings on the subject of her memories he came to think for a bit. “We’ll look into what the others can do for you. If none are good enough we will… Do it my way.”
He said softly as he came to place a kiss on the side of her head.
***
Moira wriggled to be as close to Gideon as possible, huddling against him. “Ok….” She closed her eyes, not because she was tired, but it was an effort to erase the image of that blood splattered snow. Some time went by before she spoke again, and when she did her voice was very small.
“What if I did it?” Her voice quivered a little. “What if I killed whoever it was? What if I’m...a killer or something?”
***
“Hey.” He said as he came to sit across from her once more and cupped her face to look at him. “You’re not a killer. “ He assured her. “Killers don’t bake a million cookies. Or go shopping with Cora. Or care about a pack she doesn’t know.” He said as he came to brush her hair from her face.
“And if you did kill someone, we’ll figure out how to handle it. I’m not innocent myself. I’ve killed before. “ He told her as he came to rub at her legs to keep that comfort of touch there.
***
She didn’t hesitate to look into Gideon’s eyes...his perfect, beautiful eyes. Yes, there was firmness there that others might find intimidating, but Moira saw his heart in his eyes every time she looked at them. It was as reassuring as his words and his touch.
Moira reached out to caress her hand over Gideon’s cheek. She still looked worried, but smiled all the same. “You would kill to protect people because you have the strength to do it. I’m just...Moira. I’m not that strong.”
***
“I’ve killed from anger and stupidity as well.” He assured her as he came to exhale deeply. “You are a strong one, Moira. Strong enough to deal with everything that's happening to the packs while baking cookies to make them feel somewhat normal.” He came to cup her hands for the moment and stare at her.
“Never think you are not strong Moira. You are.”
***
Hearing him describe her brought tears back to her eyes, but for entirely different reasons. She would never see herself like he did, but maybe that was ok. Maybe that was why he was there...to tell her what she couldn’t see.
“I’m strong because I have you.” Her heart was in her voice making it stick in her throat and leak out her eyes. “Don’t...go anywhere, ok?”
***
“Where would I go? This is my cabin. And if this place was to send me back home, I would fight my way back to be here with you and my family.” He assured her as he came to place that kiss on her lips for the moment. To assure her that he wasn’t going anywhere. “Go shower, while I finish dinner.”
***
The kiss really went a long way to calm her down. After, Moira put her forehead to Gideon’s with her smile turning soft. “I can see you doing just that.” She stole another kiss with a feeling of not wanting to let go, ever, but she didn’t want to ruin his dinner. She let him go then wormed off the couch. Her eyes drifted to the window where the snow was really coming down. Even with the memories she still felt the draw to the snow. It was confusing. Maybe that shower would help.
