Passing off cookies was probably not the best way to meet someone for the first time. Then again, he wasn't going to be the one eating them from a stranger. So far, Derek had been content to lay beneath the radar and keep out of things for once and that had felt nice.
Assuming the waving man was who he was supposed to be meeting, after all who else would be doing that toward Derek, he put on a little smile and shook his head.
"It wasn't long as all, and I like being outside, anyway." He nodded, bending a bit to pick up his bag and unzip it to pull out the sizeable blue and gold tin. "I brought a baggy...in case you didn't." He nodded, pulling out the clear plastic zippered bag and handing it over before opening the tin. "I figured you could just take some and touch them yourself. I ate a couple of the pretzel shaped ones, already."
