Duma frowned slightly, "In my world, our feet are not even supposed to touch the ground because it is impure. Surely worse is grounds for punishment." So why would he not expect punishment when the rules were so strict? He disliked the way Michael seemed so... dismissive of it. Perhaps his Father was not as strict as Duma's version was. Of course, he'd long since broken the ground-touching rule but it didn't seem to matter once one was banished from the Golden City.
