At this point, Lydia didn’t care how she was talking to Lucy. She wasn’t mentally ready to send the devil after someone. Even if they deserved it, now add that with the message she was getting from Mitch. He was leaving to find a new place. Sure, he said he’d get their things once he finds a place. But Lydia felt a pain in her chest. This was all her fault. From day one. She simply came to stare at her phone for the moment. Red hair let loose over her frame as that bandage was placed on her neck.
No smile was visible over her features, as her green eyes held red lines in them as if she had been crying. Which she was. In a sense she was happy no one was in the room with her. Lydia didn't like to look weak around her friends.
***
Lucifer was very put out. He did not like being told No, and he certainly didn’t like someone damaging his property friends. It was a time he put this to rest before he had to get really serious. Nobody wanted that. Besides, there were three people here who could stop him, and that would be endlessly annoying. So to the hospital, he went texting with Lydia got him nowhere.
His power preceded him, making the nurses at the station look elsewhere while Lucifer just calmly walked down the hall to Lydia’s room. It was probably a good thing she was alone. He would have forced anyone presents out of the room while he...talked...to her.
He only hesitated for as long as it took to close and lock the door before he sauntered to her bed. “Hello, Lydia,” he said with a smile that went nowhere near his eyes. “Now,” he said as he sat down on the edge of her bed. “What were we talking about?”
***
Lydia wasn’t in the mood for people. Not after her texting with Mitch went south. So once Lucifer walked in. All she could do was roll her eyes. Those bandages on her neck held that red tint to them since she had screamed earlier and it did tear the stitching slightly. Those green eyes held red within them as she came to look away from Lucifer for the moment. A simple text sent to his phone from where she rested.
“Can’t talk.” Is all she would say as she came to exhale deeply. Only to glance at her phone to that texting between her and Mitch before she turned it over and placed it on her side. A deep sigh escaped her lips as she tried to figure out a way out of this.
***
Lucifer chuckled as he gently reached out to take the call button out of her reach. “I think you can if you want to,” he said then leaned a bit closer to Lydia, letting the Hellfire shine in his eyes. “And before we are through you will really want to.”
***
Lydia came to watch Lucifer for the moment as she came to lean in closer to her. Her frame came to lean back away. Only to watch as those hellfire eyes came to shine in her direction. “...What… Do you…. Want….” Is all she said as she came lean back on her pillow and watch him.
She did take note of him moving the call button away from her like she would really use it. “My soul?” She said wondering if that is why he was here. For her soul since she did offer it to him to drop the subject. And right now, she didn’t care.
***
The chuckle Lucifer gave brushed against her in all the right and wrong places. He rarely ever flexed his supernatural muscles and this was barely a twitch of them. Yet they still could put a chill down the stiffest of spines.
“I already have all of that I want, sweet Lydia.” The Devil’s eyes locked on hers as he lightly drew the back of his fingers down her cheek. For just that part of his skin, he dropped the disguise and let Lydia feel his real skin. “I want the one who did this to you.”
***
Lydia came to make a slight face at him. Only to move away when he touched her cheek and came to look away from him. “I did it.” She replied as she came to keep her eyes away from his. She didn’t like this feeling that he was giving her right now. Maybe Mitch was right, Lucifer wasn’t the best of people to be associated with. But it was too late. He had her in his corner.
“I’ll give you anything you want, to drop this.” It was the same song and dance she was giving everyone basically. Stiles only knew a little bit because he was there with her and it was her fault this happened. To all of them, including Mitch.
***
He liked her reaction right now, or at least the hellish part of him did. There was a part of Lucifer that was screaming at him to stop. That part was, unfortunately, just a tiny whisper of a scream at the moment.
Lucifer’s fingernail caught at the edge of her bandage. Those red eyes took in the blood that dampened the fabric as he hummed. “You did it? Is that the story you truly want to go with?”
***
When his fingernail came to touch at that bandage, Lydia’s first instinct kicked in as she took hold of his hand and shoved it away from her. This was her fourth time nearly being killed. Did she wonder if on the fifth she would actually die?
“A jogger did it? Maybe a deranged angel did it? Or maybe, I did it to stop screaming.” She replied as she came to grip that bandage and pull it off to reveal that freshly stitched cut that bleeds slightly.
Indicating that she had screamed earlier in the night.
***
He grinned when she shoved his hand away, but when she revealed her freshly opened wound, he reached out to lift a drop of blood from her skin with a fingertip. This time, no strength of man would be able to budge his hand.
“Sweet Lydia,” he said before he sucked the blood from his finger. Then Lucifer turned his eyes back to her, piercing her in place with his gaze as he leaned toward her once more. This time he put the full force of his compulsion into his voice. “Tell me who hurt you.”
***
Lydia came to watch as he licked at the blood from her neck off his finger. She was terrified, but the question was of what. Lucifer or losing Mitch? “I don’t remember.” Is all she said next as she came to look at him for the time being. She swallowed down as best as she-she grabbed the new bandages and placed it on her neck.
“Do you know everyone in Preya?”
****
Lucifer drew back from Lydia with a blink of stunned outrage. Only one person ever has been able to resist his powers, and Lydia was definitely not her. He knew his powers weren’t diminishing since he’d just used them on the nurses. Somehow Lydia was resistant to them. That. Pissed. Him off.
His eyes flared bright red as he frowned. The illusion he had on himself flickered in and out, revealing his true face in glimpses to Lydia. One side of his lip twitched upward into a barely contained snarl then he was up off the bed and storming for the door.
***
Lydia wasn’t sure what just happened as she watched Lucy for the moment. The way he stormed for the door it caused her to arch a brow as she tilted her head. “The hell was that about?” She asked as she kept watching him for the moment. Only to sit up in her bed a little bit more.
“Lucy?” She asked a bit worried at this point. Which was funny since she was the victim, yet she was worried about the devil.
***
This time he did snarl as his eyes slid to the side. A moment later he whirled around. He dropped the illusion and spoke in the voice that ruled Hell for so long.
“You have crossed me, Lydia Martin!” His voice was like many people and animals mixed in all talking at the same time. “I hold two debts from you. Be afraid.”
And with that warning he pulled the illusion around himself again, leaving him to look like the dapper Englishman as he tugged on the lapels of his coat. Lucifer eyed Lydia then started for the door again, more calmly this time.
***
Lydia was about to say something but once that illusion came through, all she could do was close her eyes tightly as she looked away. Her mouth pressed tightly against itself as she heard the mixture of voices and animals noises boom through her room.
She could feel her body tremble as she came to hear his threat of having two debts over her. Slowly she came to open her eyes as she watched him revert back to the man she used to looking at. She watched as he came to reach for the door in a calm manner.
Still, she kept her lips pressed tightly closed as she felt that tingle in her throat trying to push its way out.
