Thomas hadn't really been thinking too much into the comments he got. He'd seen his share of people coming and going and a princess lived next door and he was pretty sure the guy across the street was some kind of something. What that something was, Thomas didn't know, but he'd been friendly enough when Thomas had tried to introduce himself. It was always better to be nice to your neighbors, and he was sure the whole cookies for a new friend thing had long since came from his mom.
What he hadn't been expecting was someone suddenly in front of him, startling enough that he dropped the ball of lights and wire straight on the porch with a sharp thud. He breathed out, shaking his head a little and forcing a laugh as he looked the man over. He looked older than Thomas, and...well. Thomas wasn't one to judge too harshly.
"I didn't see you..." Another small smile, this one a little more relaxed. The man looked almost as confused as he felt, though. "Can I...help you with something?"
