WHO: Yuri Katsuki & Victor Nikiforov WHAT: Talking about their relationship WHEN: Sunday evening WHERE: Yuri's apartment RATING: Low probably? Hard to tell with them
Yuri took the long way home after work. He needed time to think. After the 'excitement' of the morning with the giant green monster on the beach, that was all anyone could talk about so he hadn't had much time to himself. Even his normally quiet co-workers were chatty. Now though, he could focus on Victor, and what was waiting in his flat. It was a small dingy thing, nothing that lived up to Victor's usual love of grandeur. Though, he'd stay there if that was what Yuri wanted, even if he might complain about it.
That Victor had followed him here was incredible. He had not in his wildest dreamed hoped of that. While he'd still worn his engagement ring, he'd not really thought of them as together. Not with Yuri being such a coward as to leave not just Victor, but the whole world he'd known. He felt so stupid about it now, so naive. And here Victor was, following along wanting to pick up the pieces. It felt wrong to string Victor further along, to let him love Yuri without knowing what a slug Yuri really was. Victor deserved so so much better. The fact that Yuri wanted to cling onto him, to keep him his own forever, only highlighted how awful Yuri was.
Unfortunately, he'd reached no new sense of clarity as he arrived at his apartment, but he let himself in anyway. He wasn't sure if he hoped that Victor had realized his own mistake and left, or if Victor was waiting here for him to come home and he could throw himself at his feet and beg for mercy. Either way, he opened the door and prepared to face whatever lay before him.
