Yeah, he got that. The concept of having expendable money was a strange one -- something that he hadn't even really gotten used to in the Corps; that hadn't been a job that had paid particularly well, and even when he'd had extra money there hadn't been a lot of time to spend it. Or, really, much to spend it on beyond his favored tea and necessary clothing.
Here -- well. It was definitely different.
"It's okay," he reassured, "we can afford it so long as we don't go too wild." There'd be other stuff Isabel needed soon enough, too, which he had to consider when spending. Clothes, toiletries, all the rest.
He pulled her further into the store, heading down an aisle that boasted it was for cat things, and plucked down two little dishes meant for water and food, silent encouragement for her to feel more at home in selecting what she'd like. It was a difficult thing to get used to -- the freedom that came with this place. But Levi thought that Isabel would get used to it with an ease that Levi had really yet to.
