"Well, you're here, so you can get me one," she chirped back, grinning at the exchange. "Then maybe my hair won't look like a damned bird's nest."
She did peer at the jacket a bit skeptically, but didn't say anything more about it. The idea of living above ground, in an apartment with windows, caused Isabel's eyes to light up and she beamed over at Levi happily. She punched his arm at the comment about getting his apartment dirty. "Geez. Like I haven't been livin' with ya for a while now, big bro. Course I know how to keep things cleaned." She rolled her eyes, but what she didn't say was maybe that was part of what was different with him. Something was, that much she knew, but she couldn't say what, exactly.
Her eyes went wider at just the thought of keeping a cat. Isabel didn't hear the word can't, but focused instead on the word keep. She bent down, kneeling in front of the calico that was purring at her feet, then beamed up at Levi with an expression so full of excitement. "You mean, you can take them home? Aw, come on, big bro! You gotta let me! I'll look after her and everything. She even likes you, see?" As if on cue, the cat made its way back to Levi, quite happy to roam in between their legs.
