The Doctor opened his eyes wide and first nodded, "Yep", and then shook his head enthusiastically, "Nope. It's a Time Lord ability. I have a friend who's a walking Paradox, a fixed point in Time. He gives me the heebie-jeebies every time he walks in the room. And while I can tell you're from a different universe than the one I'm from, that's perfectly normal around here - so is practically everybody else.
"BUT, if you're that concerned... I can scan you again?"
This time the Doctor stood up and walked around his desk to stand beside Spock, holding out his hands. "Give me your hands," he requested. When she did as she was asked, he closed his eyes and let his head drop back so that his face was toward the ceiling, looking deep in concentration.
Actually, this was all a show, for Spock's benefit. It really was that simple. After a moment, he slowly straightened and opened his eyes, then said in a confident, reassuring voice, "You're fine." He then squeezed both her hands with his own, as further reassurance .
