Six hours for Jamie was something like four hours since Clint had gotten back to his place -- and he had taken the time to straighten up a bit (although, frankly, not that much), take Lucky out for a little walk and then come home all over again in order to shower, even though Jamie had technically advised against it. It was necessary though, because he'd felt both dirty and tired. Staying up was optimal, since he was full of nerves and waiting on Jamie anyway. Cold water helped, and the coffee he made after that didn't hurt either.
Sleeping wasn't an option, even if he was tired. The ear aches that resulted from him sleeping with his hearing aids in were never fun, and he didn't want to miss any knocks at the door. Anyway, it'd be unfair to have a nap when Jamie was practically dead on his feet at work.
So he paced a bit. Watched some tv. Did not read any kind of book, because who even did that. And was up and at the door when Jamie knocked in an embarrassingly record amount of time.
