Arcturus muttered a reflexive apology as he bumped into someone straight ahead of him. He barely glanced at the man at first, intent as he was on leaving as quickly as possible, but when he didn't seem to be moving out of the way, Arcturus looked at him expectantly.
He didn't much like that grin. There was something familiar about the man's face, but he couldn't quite place it, and it was almost as if – no, he told himself firmly. Muggles couldn't possibly see through his magic. No need to be fretful about impossibilities. His initial startled expression was soon replaced by a practiced smile.
'As it turns out, I have somewhere else to be tonight,' he replied, curtly but politely. There was no sense in getting into an argument over the unsuitability of muggle entertainments either. 'Never mind the charge. Perhaps another time.'
Definitely not another time. But Arcturus was no stranger to lying.
