Derek took a couple steps closer to the boy, almost instantly recognizing him once he did, yet stopping dead in his tracks when he realized the scent was different. There was a moment, when any sort of friendly air dropped and he just looked confused. He wasn't talking like Stiles. He didn't smell like him. Just...sort of looked like him. Maybe like he cared a little less about his hair, which was faintly amusing to think about.
Almost belatedly, he nodded, trying for another smile, though, it was a bit more reserved. The situation was weird, but he didn't necessarily have to be weird about it. "I'm normally not here. First time coming through here." He took a breath and stepped forward again to offer his hand. "I'm Derek."
