Arcturus wasn't truly comfortable in Preya at all, but he could tolerate it. He considered it his own fault for having agreed to a magical contract he didn't understand because he was being chased and had panicked. So he'd just have to put up with it until his father arrived. There were far worse places, and his distant relations here were nice people.
'Everdale is more like home,' he told Narcissa, brightening a little. 'Or at least like the countryside at home. There are muggles, and muggle things, but none of the horrid loud machines, the strange shops and improper-looking people. Of course I would be very happy to show you around. I could take you on a tour by carriage, if you liked, or we could borrow the carpet? I know you'll like it.' More relaxed now that he didn't feel under pressure, he paused, taking another sip of his tea. Perhaps Narcissa would like Everdale so much that she'd move there, and then he wouldn't have to worry about what lay outside her door. He resolved to show her all the very best parts of the region.
'And I'd like to visit regularly, if I may. If you'll help me with my lessons, then I expect I shall need to. Do you think I might write you out a list of all the examinations I shall need to pass, and you might tell me which ones you might assist with? You really needn't go to any trouble with treats, I'm grateful enough for your help.' Arcturus wasn't about to turn down any treats there happened to be, of course, but he didn't want Narcissa to feel that he required any fussing over.
