Narcissa had regretted her harsh words to Arcturus when she had seen her journal post. She hated seeing other witches and wizards getting to him before family could speak to him on the matters he seemed to have questions on. He was from so far back in her history that everything she knew must have felt overwhelming; she knew she felt that way when she had started correspondence with Potter's grandson. There were many questions and things she wanted clarification on, but she didn't know if she was quite ready for it. Having some family and Lucius here brought a sort of contentment she didn't think would be possible. The ability to leave posed an interesting situation, but she wasn't actively looking for a way to get back home either. She, privately, was rather enjoying it here.
She had set out a lovely spread for her cousin (because it was easier to call him that than their real relation), complete with plum pudding and a nicely wrapped box that had a full cake in it for him. She hoped that he wouldn't actually be taking it back with him as she would be able to persuade him to stay here, with her and Lucius. Aunt Cassi had already given her blessing for him to stay, a fact that still puzzled Narcissa. Aunt Cassi still seemed appalled about the notion of her and Lucius living together, so why would she be okay with having Arcturus living with them? It wasn't a fact she wanted to argue however as she wanted him here just as much.
When she heard the knock, she waved away the attending house elf, wanting to receive him herself. She opened the door, smiling at Arcturus.
"I'm so happy you could make it," she said, leaning down to give him a kiss on either cheek. "Please, come in and make yourself at home."
