"Sure." Elena was focused on the kitten as they made their way up to the house. She followed along behind him, remembering at the last minute to grab her bag from the deck where she'd been standing. But then she stopped at the front entryway. From what she could see inside, the place looked absolutely beautiful. This was anything but a quaint, little cabin. This was chic, and warm, and inviting. This definitely put her place to shame. But she couldn't set foot inside--not until he invited her in.
She held the kitten for a moment, awkwardly, on the front doorstep. "I'd love a glass." She was distracted, nervous, her heart speeding up again.
