The last handful of days had been a delightful busy blur; the full harvest moon, hunting and running with Malia and Kitty, conversing with Derek for the first time in ages, all of it had ensured that his days had been full. By the time Saturday evening had come around Deucalion was ready for a quiet evening. Still plans had been made with a new friend, and the old wolf had no desire to cancel their night of movies and a meal. When it came to the meal portion though the Alpha had to get a little creative; since during the full moon he tended to clean out the fridge...and the man had also consumed two hundred pounds of fresh elk as well. Still long before she was set to arrive the wolf headed out to hunt up some fresh game.
Finding the grizzly bear had been a surprise; both to the bear and for Deucalion too. Yet after a brief encounter, and a few claw marks across his back, the Alpha dragged home his prize. Those claw of the bear had been vicious indeed, rending his shirt and his back too. However the Demon Wolf's claws proved far more fatal, as he was the victor and now used those same claws to field dress the grizzly for dinner. Two hours flew by yet the time was quite productive; a mound of fresh bear steaks were waiting in the fridge, the rest of the edible meat was stored away in the freezer, and the old wolf had a large pan of well seasoned bear brisket slow cooking in the oven. After the main course was set, and simply heating in the oven, Deuc turned his attention to preparing the side dishes and salad...though his focus was lost every now and again when Kali slowly stalked him around the kitchen.
With half an hour or so to spare the Alpha wrapped up his work and grabbed a quick shower; taking a moment to exam the claw marks that were healing rapidly along his back. All done with his mental list the man grabbed his kitten and headed outside, tying the tiny tabby off with a red yarn leash that the cat loved, while turning his focus to getting a little time to meditate in as well. When he heard the knock at the door a hint of a smile was seen and, from his resting stop atop a tree stump, Deucalion called out to the young woman from the side of the rustic cabin. "I'm over here, my dear."
