Derek had been spending his evening in the meadow, sprawled out on the grass and staring up at the sky. The stars were bright out in Everdale, even if there were some he didn't fully recognize. He recognized the moon, and how full it was getting, but even if he couldn't see it, his body knew it was coming, and that alone had made him want to be alone, just for a little bit longer.
He knew he needed to get up, and while the clearing wasn't too far from his house, he knew he'd run, just to stretch his legs a bit. He had a few ideas about what Cora might want to talk about, but that didn't make him feel any more eager to actually talk about them. As he came up to the little house, he bit back a small smile.
"Sorry. I should have told you there's a set of keys in the bin." He pointed at the plastic outdoor storage box, the kind probably meant for a garden hose, but actually held some clothes and things of Derek's. He offered to help her up before stepping around her to let them in, giving a small stretch before breathing in the familiar scents. "Seems a little pointless to ask if everything is okay...but...you want a drink, or something?"
