Gideon Hale was a hard man, yet a man that Deucalion counted among the few friends he truly had. Oh that gruff exterior, and lack of polite conversational skills, were certainly a challenge at time but over the years the Deucalion witnessed just how capable a leader Hale could be. More then that though, Talia's love of Gideon had been enough to warrant placing the Demon Wolf's trust in the elder Hale. After all there had been no one Deuc respected more than Talia, and her adoration of Gideon only served to further cement his opinion that Gideon was a man worth knowing. "Your father has never really been an easy man to know, but once you are able to get past that rough exterior...well the bond is one worth having, and worth fighting to protect. In truth I have so few people in my life who I could earnestly count as being a real friend, but he is among them. Give yourself time to get to know him, if you wish, and forge a new bond with him. It takes time, yet it is time well worth the effort."
The question of his plans drew the Alpha back from his thoughts and with a light hearted chuckle the old wolf grinned as he spoke. "Well I believe I shall be hunting with Malia and a new companion too. I picked up the scent of elk near the cabin and it would be a delightful evening to run free beneath the moonlight. You of course are always welcome to join, Derek."
