The rising moon was hours away yet Deucalion could feel it even now. Like a tickle racing along his spine; the feel of it's influence churning up the power that the Alpha hadn't tapped into for quite some time. Still after all the decades the old wolf knew how to ignore it. Knew how to control the animal inside that longed to run and hunt. Oh it wasn't easy but he was not some newly turned Beta who had no control, and in truth Deucalion could resist the call to turn if he so was inclined. Tonight though, well after only a week and a half the man had made friends with a few others. Friends who wished to run along side him beneath the light of the moon. So when night fell at last that's were he would be, but for now the Alpha's focus was completely rooted into the present...his attention honed onto the meeting with the younger wolf.
A casual stroll through the woods, savoring the crisp air and the scent of fall all around, had put him in high spirits. So when he spotted Derek waiting there atop the rock Deucalion offered a small yet genuine smile. Even at the words of the other man the Alpha merely shrugged, not saying a word until he drew closer. "I gave my word, and so here I am. Tell me, how are you faring, Derek? I'd imagine that your father's return has been a bit of a shock. Still it's good to know that my old friend is alive and well."
