Ah. Castiel found human's views on relationships puzzling at best; they were always wanting, yet every possible iteration of a relationship was condemned by one group or another for the strangest of reasons. Human religions especially did love to make judgments about such things. Cas may have... handled some of the more egregious factions, when he'd been... in charge - he focused hard on Dean; he wasn't going to think about that right now. Regardless, the impact of such people was harder to get rid of. Perhaps Dean was looking for encouragement, or reassurance?
"You know, humans are not alone in this," Cas said, his words earnest and face open, "There are thousands of species that engage in homosexual or bisexual behavior. Lions, bats, elephants, dolphins, dragonflies... it is not unusual." Honest facts should bring some comfort, he hoped.
Castiel considered Dean's words carefully, drawing on all his rudimentary knowledge of the topic to navigate a logical response. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but a 'date' is usually a term for a mutually agreed upon outing, yes?" he shrugged, tugging nervously at the leg of the soft cotton pants that Dean had given him to wear before. "In that case, it isn't one unless you both want it to be." Only the fact that Dean had already told him outright that he didn't want it to be one made it so Cas was able to meet his eye.
