Castiel blinked and he stiffened slightly. A date? Someone had asked Dean on a date? A maybe-date, a perhaps-date. He hadn't expected that to be the reason Dean needed help. After all, Cas knew that Dean generally liked to engage in this manner of social interaction fairly often. And yet... something was different this time. Dean seemed flustered and troubled by it.
As ever, Castiel would do his best to assist Dean, but this wasn't a hunt. He didn't know what Dean needed from him; he'd never come to Cas about such a thing before. Why would he, when he held far more experience in such matters than Cas did?
On the other hand, Dean looked almost as uncomfortable as Castiel felt. Cas looked away, shifting his weight from foot to foot. "Um. I don't understand. Why wouldn't it be? Isn't... that typically the custom?" Cas did not understand very much about human mating rituals, but this seemed fairly normal to him. But, as as his stolen glances turned into staring at the color spreading over Dean's face, he had to wonder if his presumptions were incorrect.
