She gave a slow nod at his words, though the thought was still surprising to her. In her world, lycanthropy was essentially a congenital disease, contracted through the bloodstream - a virus that could be spread. Sure, there were the mystical, supernatural aspects, but the fact was that science could study it and note the different characteristics. Vampirism was the same way, in her mind. "That's amazing," she said honestly. Kitty was aware that female werewolves couldn't have children - or she suspected, at least, but she'd never considered that there could be werewolf offspring this way. It was something to look into, and research if she could.
As the wings were set down between them, Kitty continued talking, and found herself not taking any until he indicated for her to go ahead. A part of her was vaguely annoyed at herself for falling into the submissive role so easily, and she resolved to keep her back straight and eyes level on his glasses - not in challenge, but more in an equal stance. She twisted the bones of the wing to tug the meat off and ate it neatly, before continuing on.
"Well, the existence of werewolves and vampires was starting to become somewhat common knowledge, and my show was helping with that, drawing them out and making them a little more acceptable to people. There was this scientist who was studying them and their conditions, Dr. Paul Flemming at the National Institute of Health, though it was considered a fringe science and he wanted my help in making it more mainstream so that he could also expand his research. This Senator started calling us abominations, and Dr. Flemming was in the midst of arranging a hearing to try and get more funding, and since I was the only publicly known werewolf, I received a summons." She gave a shrug, then looked down as she picked up a second wing.
"My lawyer came too, to make sure I was covered legally and everything. What I didn't know was that the scientist had made a deal with the Senator and his true intentions was to create lycanthorpic soldiers. The Senator kept pushing back my testimony until it hit the day of a full moon, then tried to rile me up before the hearing. It didn't work, but that night Flemming had arranged with the senator's help to have me kidnapped. I cut a deal so that the entire thing was broadcasted live on TV to protect myself and expose them and well..." Kitty shrugged uncomfortably. "I couldn't put off the Change and millions saw it on TV. Being a celebrity was almost a protection from the hunters after that - if anyone targeted me directly, they'd end up bringing the law down on themselves.
