Oh the pack mentality had been there in his world as well, though at times it was either stronger or weaker depending on the pack and the Alpha. The instinctual nature of it all though; using sense of smell to determine a pack members mood, listening to the beat of a heart to gauge it too, the non verbal communication and the use of growls...all of it had been a part of his life for so very long. Until his pack was slain by his own hand. After that, well the social customs were different when dealing with a pack of all Alphas, like trying to win a constant tug of war atop thin cracking ice. Still the others fell in line when Deucalion asserted himself. Now though, well it'd been so long since he really was around anyone at all; wolf or human. "I understand. I suppose it shall always be ingrained in us, the wolfs nature seeping into our own until both are more or less blended."
That English polite manner of his insisted she order first, yet the faintest hint of a soft red glow was seen in his eyes from behind the sunglasses when Kitty mentioned that her order should be held until his was ready. A warm and real little smile tugged at his lips again, yet instead of remarking on what she had done the old Alpha just nodded a tad before turning back to Matt. "I shall have a 28 ounce renegade sirloin steak, cooked rare if you please, along with two lobster tails, a grilled hawaiian salmon for my kitten, one large appetizer order of wings for the table, and an order of the roasted white cheddar stuffed mushrooms too."
There was no doubt that his steak, lobster tails, and salmon would take longer then her order to prepare. So Deucalion figured ordering an appetizer or two for them to share while they waited would work well enough.
