"That must be another difference...for me, it's instinctual. Pack mentality," she said with a slight shrug. "I can't help it." It was how wolves communicated and though she strove to be more human than wolf, it was how she sometimes communicated, too. With humans, she had to constantly remind herself that they didn't know wolf communication, and so she had to stick to human mannerisms with them, and push down her instincts.
With someone like Deucalion, that was a little more difficult, but she was trying.
Smiling again at what he said he'd do for the kitten, Kitty gave a nod and looked up when the server approached. Flashing a bright smile, she didn't even bother with the menu. "Hi...Matt," she said as she read his nametag. "Can I get a root beer and a pulled chicken BBQ sandwich? With fries instead of onion rings, please." She shifted her gaze to Deucalion, then back to the server. "You can hold off on putting mine in until he's ready. Thanks!"
