In all honesty, Kitty had been kicking herself for coming to Preya. She felt like a coward, running away the way she had to avoid Carl ever being able to track her down, and she missed her family desperately. The fact that she couldn't call or even email hit her hard; right now, she even missed the crew at her old radio station in Denver. Starting anew here in Preya had been hard, and a bit of a shock really, but she decided to just go with it - for now, at least....which led, in a roundabout way, to setting up the lunch with Deucalion.
When Kitty turned the corner the grill was on, she found herself drifting to a stop. She could smell him, faintly, mixing in with the other scents around her, and as she got closer to the restaurant his smell became stronger. He definitely smelled like a werewolf, but there were differences too, and she wondered if that was due to the different world thing, or the other things he'd told her. She entered the main part of the restaurant and followed her nose out to the courtyard area behind it, where most of the tables were. It was easy to spot him among all the others, and just on her first glance, Kitty could sense that he was an Alpha. She hesitated briefly on the edge of the seating area, and took a moment to remind herself that he wasn't her Alpha and while she didn't want to fight him for deference, she wasn't going to automatically let herself be dominated.
Respect and acknowledgement, not acquiescence - that was her goal.
With that thought in mind, the blonde straightened her back and lifted her chin, eyes firmly settled on him as she walked over. Inside, she could feel Wolf wanting to cower, to acknowledge him as the superior one here, but Kitty ignored that in favor of maintaining her own independence. She smiled when she reached him, head ducking just a little, eyes casting to the side before she sat across from him.
"Hi," she said brightly as her eyes returned to his face, then alighted on the kitten. The man was definitely a contradiction, she thought absently, even as her smile warmed. "Oh wow - she's adorable.
