The tropical climate of Brightford caught Deucalion by surprise when he stepped off of the light rail. Between the warmth of the sun, the scent of the ocean in the air, and the stark contrast of the city compared to Everdale, well the old wolf was left stunned for a moment. Oh he was half tempted to peel off the light simple sweater he was wearing, but his kitten little Kali was already nestled there upon his shoulder with her tiny claws embedded into the fabric. After pausing to slip on his dark sunglasses the wolf reached up and lightly brushed the tabby's ear as he started to really survey the area. After over a decade of being blind, and only a year or so since having his eyes restored, it still took the Alpha a bit to adjust to finding his was around with sight. When his bearings were sorted though he moved at last, casually slipping through the streets with ease as he tracked down the restaurant. By the time he reached the outdoor establishment, mostly thanks to the scent of freshly grilled barbecue, the man still had a few minutes to spare before it was 12:30.
A polite smile, and only the briefest of intense stares, had a waiter showing him to a seat; without hassling him about the kitten who was along for the ride. In truth a part of the wolf was slightly conflicted; since meeting a new wolf, or really anyone for that matter, left him feeling a little apprehensive. For too long the Alpha had lived alone, traveling the world after his pack had disbanded, and only ever truly conversing with others when he returned to Beacon Hills in an effort to lend a hand. Of course this whole place, the whole move to Preya, was a fresh start for him. So in the end the wolf decided he'd try his best to avoid slipping back into the hermit life style. Oh it didn't help that he had chosen to live in a small cabin on the outskirts of a vast forest, but he was doing his best to ease into it all. The fact that he and Kitty had spoken for a bit the other day helped matters greatly. She knew some of his dark past, had seen the face of the Demon Wolf, but instead of fleeing she wished to meet all the same. That alone was admirable, to say the least, yet after always learning more about her...well the old wolf could admit that he was actually looking forward to sharing a meal with the woman. As he patiently waited for her arrival, and his drink order to be brought over, the man amused himself by playfully petting his newfound feline companion.
