The remainder of the morning following his brief interruption with the letter had been spent studying spellwork. Sorcery was something Loki took very seriously, and it was also something that was able to hold his attention so tightly as to not want to let go. The magic described within the pages of his new acquisition was engrossing as it required incantations and runic elements that were not typically how he utilized his sorcery. Nevertheless, Loki never turned down the opportunity to learn and he could certainly see the value in mastering this particular spell despite the fact that he would likely only use it sparingly.
A response letter had come for him again in the midst of his research, and Loki received it the same way he had before; with a calculated indifference. He did not bother to send a reply, as one was not needed.
Before departing in the late morning for his office in the center of town, Loki called his secretary to inform her that he would be expecting someone and gave her the man's name. While waiting for the appointed time, Loki kept himself occupied reviewing messages and analysing data that he had begun accumulating for his ongoing investigation.
By his side, the phone burst to life, its twinkling ring drawing his mind back from the connections he was beginning to glean from the data. With a heavy sigh, he took up the receiver and was greeted with the two-sweet voice of the woman from the lobby. He instructed the woman to show the man up to his office before hanging up and rearranging his desk.
