Elena realized all too late that they were going to be jostled by the moving crowd. She tightened her grip on Cas's arm, offering support for him. It was obvious that this crowd was causing him incredible discomfort. Elena would have done anything to help alleviate that pain in any way she could. The only trouble was she couldn't think of any way to help.
"They're protesting, Cas. They're angry they're not allowed to leave Preya. I think. I mean, I'm still new to the point that I don't really understand all the intric--" She was going to say intricacies, but they were bumped into by a woman who was trying to get around them.
Once the woman was gone, Elena turned back to Cas and opened her mouth to reply. But she wasn't really sure what the best answer to that question was. She shut it again and shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know. They're unhappy people. Here, let's get out of the way." There was an alcove nearby where they wouldn't be bumped into. Elena gave Cas a little tug in that direction.
