After Aaron took the contacts out of her eyes she blinked and watched him put away his gun with a warm smile. He was so organized with his equipment, which was impressive and lovely. She wished more people in her life could be organized like that. It would have saved a lot of time growing up and during her sailing days.
She let him help her up. “When you say it like that, something makes me think that it's not going to have less violence.” She said with an amused tone. Acantha leaned down to pick up the bottles and her shoes in one hand then gathered her dress in the other so it wouldn’t drag while she walked. “Shall we?” She asked with a slight tilt to her head before she stepped off the blanket and into the sand. “You still have to get me home.” She pointed out amusedly. She decided to neglect to tell him that she could probably walk home from here. Brightford wasn’t that big in the grand scheme of lands she’d traveled.
Once he had the blanket she accompanied him to his car. -- “Well, I have done very well to keep you alive up to this point, so I think I can get you home too.” Aaron said with a smirk, and an amused tone. While they gathered everything from their little picnic, Aaron helped Acantha off the beach.
“Like I said, I will make a great attempt to the lack of violence on the next date.”
When they had reached the car, he liberated the bottles from her and walked to his trunk. Popping the trunk he put all the things away into the trunk that didn’t have a place in the front of the car. Especially his go bag. Once everything was stowed away, he made his way to the driver seat and got in the car. It was truly interesting on how well this date was going. Who would of thought? “Well, last challenge for the evening. Get the beautiful date back to her home unharmed.” With a smirk, he started the car and left the parking lot of the beach. -- Acantha sat in her seat and watched Aaron get into the car. “I am sure you will be able to handle that challenge with ease.” She replied smoothly and then looked out the window again. As Aaron drove she pondered what all had happened tonight. This whole thing started out with her simply saying yes on a burst of spontaneity, and ended with the promise of a second date and a crush.
So many things were unfamiliar to her. Preya itself was one big uncharted territory. Perhaps more spontaneity would be good for her? But Acantha was stubborn and can hard to convince. She’d had so much unfamiliarity in her life these past 10 years. Being empress wasn’t exactly a job description that she’d been groomed for, something that Divan told her again and again. Then going home and having the court push and pamper and follow her every move. “Empress this” “Empress that” no one could sneeze without her approval. None of that was what she wanted. She could almost picture the other ruler’s faces when she would comment to them. King Divan’s nose upturned in the air, Emperor Hyacinth’s small nods and apologetic face, Tilla’s hopeless and tired smile, and Grandmaster Akio’s smirk that was hidden behind his various masks. Gods did she want to just shatter that man’s mask into his face. That was after she gave Divan a swift snap to the nose. 13 territories could go kiss his ass.
Acantha didn’t even realize the aura that was surrounding her. Her left hand was clenched into a fist while her right rested on the door and she rubbed her temple. Her face looked very displeased and her eyes reflected a deep desire to punch something or someone. Why in the gods name was it so easy to bring your issues with you?
