She started to ask if everything was okay when he fell silent, but instead her smile only softened further at the touch on her cheek, and she met his eyes directly. As Arthur leaned in, Susan knew precisely what was happening, but it never occurred to her to draw away from him. Instead, she tilted her head up a little as he kissed her, but it was so quick that she barely had a chance to reciprocate.
"Good," she murmured, and her own hand - the one not holding the cup of hot chocolate, lifted to slide into his hair and bring him in for a second kiss - this one a little longer and deeper. It was so long, in fact, that her eyes drifted shut.
