A smile crept across Percy's face when she said You know in the way that she did. He did know. He knew a lot more than he led on most of the time, though sometimes it was easier to pretend his didn't. Others, he really was oblivious. He understood the comparison to walking a large dog, and thought that maybe he should have made the attempt to be better. More in control of his own thoughts and mind.
"I guess now we know in case there's a next time," he shrugged. Whether or not there would be a next time, he wasn't sure, but he also sensed that in some respects Ruby was holding back a bit since the night at the pool. "I got something for you the other night Merry and I went to the wreckage to poke around."
Percy reached into his pocket and handed her the bronze-ish colored comb. It was nicer than some of the other trinkets he had seen down there. It mostly needed polishing now. "I hope you like it."
