Arcturus could quite easily picture the Snitch in his mind as Richard described the situation to him, and seeing the practical application of the tumble made it seem less daunting. Yes, he'd seen similar things before, even if the specifics didn't match up exactly. He didn't have long to wonder about this, as Richard promptly provided the explanation that he needed. In hindsight, it seemed obvious. The brooms weren't the same. He nodded in recognition.
'You can fly in reverse on a Celeritas, or even the older brooms from my time,' he said. 'It's possible. It's just not something you want to do often, or at any sort of speed, unless you want to spend hours repairing and replacing bristles and twigs afterwards.' Arcturus drifted forwards, taking a closer look at the tail end of Richard's broom. 'Yours isn't damaged a bit. And you're right that I already know it's possible to fly in any direction. Pointing the broom where you want to go is only important for beginners, or if you're trying to push for the top speeds.'
The young wizard smiled, confident that he at least knew where to begin with his practice. 'Let me give it a try,' he said, and then flew off, again taking himself out to a safe height and distance. His upward tumbles were steady and well-paced, even if the intended vertical climb was more of a wobbly diagonal. He'd get there, given time.
