Rich felt the change in his wards when Arcturus crossed over onto his property and casually tracked the young man all the way to the house. He laughed softly to himself at the knock. Just like in London, people from the wizarding world always knock instead of pressing the doorbell button. If the young man became a regular student, Rich would have to key him to the wards so the door would automatically open for him.
Opening the door himself, because he still didn't have any staff at the manor house, Rich greeted Arcturus cheerfully. "How good to see you in person, young sir. Do come in. There are broom racks in my office, just there to the right. The weather is nice enough, and there is a substantial lunch set for us on the back patio. We can review your Arithmancy while we fortify ourselves for an afternoon of flying." When his guest had divested himself of encumbrances, he held out his hand for a quick, businesslike handshake.
Richard's manor house was large and comfortable without being overly lavish. Furniture was somewhat sparse, chosen for function and beauty rather than to just fill a space with something. There were only a few actual antiques, but all in all the entire image presented was that of tasteful wealth and permanence. Unlike his guest, Richard himself was wearing a more casual robe over equally casual clothes. Again, chosen for form and function rather than appearance, but obviously hand-tailored and expensive. It was not a long walk to the doors to the back patio where glass-covered dishes waited under holding spells on a well-set table.
"Be seated and help yourself, my young friend, and I shall do the same. Then, if you would be so kind, pass your Arithmantic work over to me, and I will have a look at it while you describe the process of your enchantments and the objectives you were looking to achieve."
