Luna nodded her head, seeming pleased by his response. "I suppose it's as you say, and something else we needn't worry about, for now."
But the thought of exploring without, it seemed, so many inherent dangers of her former home did sound appealing. Another future subject to come back to—after the more important matters, of course. As the light rail moved onward, it served to keep her focused on what was waiting ahead. With one hand keeping her steady on the rail, she reached down and scratched behind Umbra's ear.
"This place we're going," she asked, "Everdale, I believe? Do you think he...it has the space to accommodate us?"
Looking down toward Umbra, her expression wasn't visible. The slight tremor of uncertainty in her voice, however, wasn't as easily hidden. Even an Oracle had limits, and that included a certain sort worldliness that might have given her some hint of what to expect when they arrived.
Facing down gods was one thing. Living as a normal person might... well, she didn't know where to begin. And standing here, amidst so many others going about their lives with seeming grace and ease, almost made her envious.
