Who: Gwen Stacy (Spider-Woman), Peter Parker (Spider-Man) When: January Where: On the streets somewhere What: Webslingers meeting Rating/Warnings: Low/None Status: Incomplete? To be updated?
So, there was another Spider… Person… out there. Peter wasn’t really sure what he thought about that, except maybe he liked that he wasn’t alone? And maybe he was worried she was a better spider-person than he was, and maybe he was nervous someone was going to try and take the spider-stuff away from him? But that was silly. No one could do that. Right? ...right?
Peter was trying to let go of those fears, trying to be the best Spider-Man he could be. And his suit was pretty amazing, so that really helped. Tony Stark had made him the best of the best of the best, and no one was going to take that away. That helped him be all that he could be.
He was waiting on the rooftop, crouched on the corner, watching out over the busy streets of Ravenmoore when he felt his Spidey sense tingling. He turned, almost instinctively, and his Spider-Mask eyes went wide as he saw the other person on the rooftop.

Gwen wasn't sure what to expect. She'd definitely learned her lesson that the various iterations of Spider-X were very, very different - she herself was perhaps one of the more normal ones when you looked at Spider-Ham and Noir. She let out a web and used it to flip herself on top of Stark Tower, landing en pointe like a trained ballerina - which she had been when she was like, 15 years old. Those skills had come flying back to her as soon as she'd been bitten.
“You must be the other Spider-Man,” she greeted, pulling her mask over her head. “Gwen Stacy. Nice to meet you. I've met a few other Spider-People, but I'm guessing from your response on the network, this is the first time for you?” She looked over him curiously, her head tilted as she looked over his suit. She wasn't going to give away that Violet had told her his name, at least.
--
Well, it was definitely a new thing for Peter. He'd had no idea there were other Spider-People, let alone a pretty (emphasis on pretty) awesome one in a crazy amazing suit with mad toe-standing skillz. For a moment Peter was a little tongue tied. He pulled his own mask off and let his eyes focus on her for a second before nodding.
“I'm Peter Parker.” He swallowed. His mouth was really dry. And was it unusually hot up here? “It's nice to meet you, Gwen”
--
“Why is the name Peter Parker so universal?” She smiled sadly, crossing her arms across her chest. “My friend, Peter B. Parker, the original Peter I never met- there's a lot of you out there, Peter. It's nice to meet you too,” she tilted her head. He looked… young. Slap a pair of glasses on him and he'd be the spitting image of her best friend, but that didn't bear thinking about. Not now.
“It's a long story, but I got dragged into another universe when Kingpin activated a collider with the intent of bringing his family from another universe to this one after they died. Bad idea, I know. Somehow it messed up and brought along a load of Spider-people, so I'm not shocked to learn there's more.”
--
“Uh… is it?” Peter hadn’t ever met another Peter Parker, so he wasn’t sure exactly what she was talking about with the other Peters. Of course, meeting alternate reality Peter Parkers might be kinda awesome. Just like meeting other Spider-People. Meeting Gwen was pretty amazing, actually. His heart wouldn’t stop beating--thundering in his chest.
“I uh… I’ve never had dealings with Kingpin.” Peter said it almost apologetically, he felt bad that she’d dealt with bad things and he hadn’t. “But meeting other Spider-People. I mean, that sounds really cool. Were they… were they all awesome? Or…?”
--
“You haven't met Kingpin?” She blinked, clearly shocked by that. He had been a universal in the Spider-verses that Kingpin had been one of their enemies. “He- pretty much runs the underbelly of New York. He thinks of himself as a necessary evil, but he has- a lot of connections. Many of which are with super-villains. Like Doc Ock? Green Goblin? The Vulture?” How different was his world from hers?
She moved to take a seat on the edge of the building, swinging her legs. “Come sit.”
--
Peter blinked over at her. Dock Ock? Green Goblin? Vulture? One a scale of one to ten, this was weird. Really really weird. “I… well, I don’t know those.” He paused. “I’m kind of an Avenger?” Even though all he’d really done with the Avengers team was in-fighting and answering Tony Stark’s calls. And the last time he’d traveled with the Avengers, he ended up dead.
But he wasn’t about to refuse the invitation, so he took a seat on the edge of the building beside her. “Sounds like you’ve had a lot more adventures than I have.”
--
An Avenger. She was pretty sure she wasn't even on their radar as it was - the public loved her, but even her own dad had hated Spider-Woman for the longest time. “I wouldn't really say they were good adventures. My best friend was called Peter Parker,” she looked up at the sky. “He died. He- got sick of being bullied. I did what I could, but I was so busy being a super hero that I slowly spent more and more time away from him. He became the Lizard and- well. He didn't survive our fight,” she swallowed. “I never wanted to kill him. You sound pretty new to this, which- is fine, but don't lose sight of what's happening in your normal life.” Don't be like me, she added in her mind.
--
Oh, if the public loved her, there was a guarantee that she was on the Avengers’ radar. At least she would have been in Peter’s home world.
Peter perked up a little at the sound of his name. It was silly, because she’d mentioned that his name was popular before, so it shouldn’t have been a surprise. But somehow the way she said it made him feel good. He smiled softly, a little sadly.
“Oh, man. I’m so sorry, Gwen.” He paused for a moment, thinking about Ned, thinking about MJ, and the others in the Academic Decathalon team. Then he thought about all his friends here in Preya. About Honey, about Vi. He nodded. “I won’t.”
He would never let anything happen to them. He loved them too much.
--
“Good,” she smiled slightly and let her legs dangle over the edge of the building, for a moment able to kid herself that she was back in New York. “Well, it’s at least a positive from the last time I met another Spider-Person. Our bodies were decaying because we were in the wrong world, so,” she hummed. “It’s a more pleasant experience this time. Is there much crime to deal with? I’ve only been swinging around here for a few days but the most I noticed was your usual basic robberies and muggings. Took care of ‘em, obviously.”
Peter was...interesting. He was the most low-key Spider-Man she’d met so far. He just seemed...normal.
--
“Wait, your bodies were decaying?” How did that even work Peter had no idea. He wasn’t about to ask, though if she was as brilliant as he imagined she was (Spider-People had to be, right?) she probably could explain it to him. And Peter was smart enough to understand quite easily.
“There’s some crime. Ravenmoore is a pretty big city, so there’s a lot of stuff going on at any given time. I’m really glad you’re here. We can cover so much more ground--keep the people of Ravenmoore safe.” He was, after all, concerned with the well-being of the citizens almost first and foremost.
“You’ll have to meet everyone, too. Have you met Vi yet?” He turned to her with a grin. “I’ll introduce you to Honey, too. They’re superheroes, too.”
--
“Well, we were trapped in an alternate universe,” she paused, trying to think of exactly how she’d figured it out. It had been a little while ago now and for the most part, she’d tried to put the horror and the pain out of her mind. “Our bodies were in the wrong dimension. We weren’t- on the right frequency, I guess. I’m not even sure how I can survive here or how you can survive here, but our cells were dying at an alarming rate. Everything was screaming that we were in the wrong place, like- like when a transplant patient rejects an organ. We were the rejected organs,” she ran a hand through her hair, huffing out a sigh.
“I’m glad to hear there’s plenty to go around. I prefer big cities, there’s a lot more to swing off of,” she smirked slightly. “And- I haven’t met Vi or Honey, no. I’ve not really met anybody here yet. I saw there was an assortment of Avengers, but I’m not their biggest fan.”
