Rocket held the mug with both hands to get them warm. "I'm not even sure how I feel about any of this, but the one thing I know is I'm glad I'm here, with you. It doesn't matter what we look like now. We're us. We'll figure it out."
He made another face that made him look like he'd forgotten how to human. "I looked up raccoons while on Earth, since people kept calling me that." He bared his teeth at the memory. "I started calling them monkeys whenever they did. That cured them of that," he added, with a mean chuckle. "Yeah, yeah, I can see where they're coming from, but I am light years more evolved than their stupid animals. A little resemblance in the face markings and the fur and that's it."
"My body is nothing like a raccoon's! I'd like to see one build a nuclear reactor from scratch. They can't even stand up properly," he grumbled, sipping his cocoa until he had a chocolate moustache on top of his moustache and short beard. He was completely devoid of self-consciousness about it.
