Dad jokes weren't exactly how Peter was trying to play it, but in retrospect he could see why his behavior came off that way. His jokes were always a little cheesy. "Oh?" He asked, curious. "Well. It's --uh. I dunno. It's cool, I guess. Mine's a tree. Sometimes. Sort of. Not here, actually. It's kind of a long story. But he's a good kid."
Peter had taken to reorganizing the records more than he was cleaning. Clearly the albums should have been in order by year as opposed to alphabetically. Had he allowed this, last time he'd been here? Or was it just a thing that Groot had done to low key prank him?
"Hey, just making sure," Peter shrugged. "This place is crazy, you know? Not in a bad way, but in a way where like -- every person, I think, is just from a slightly different place. Even when it's the same place. Does that make sense? Probably not. But I guess what I'm saying is it doesn't really matter who the mystery guy was, or if you think he'd be a good or bad choice. It just... was for the other you. You seemed happy. S'what matters."
Peter shouldn't have felt jealous about what was or wasn't, but hell, he was only half-human, right?
"You wanna beer? And yeah, I know Bucky. I know about everyone. He's a cool dude."
