The place was bigger than he expected, full of color and it became apparent that he had indeed heard the song that was playing before once it got to the chorus. It was one of those tunes that you couldn't help but nod your head to a little. Unless those large windows were bulletproof, this was a logistical nightmare of a place. Practically indefensible. But Steve had to shake himself off of that military op mindset. The windows were great for a store, and they let in a lot of natural light, which immediately made Steve feel at home. The bare walls caught his eye, his artist's vision immediately ideating uses for all that blank space.
"Hey," Steve said back, with a shit eating grin. "So is the Hulk here yet? Man, I wish I could have seen your face when I sent that." Seeing Peter in the flesh, and in motion, the man had a good build and a friendly face that Steve was predisposed to like, for some reason. Was it possible somehow that it had been him here before and he simply did not remember? So much to figure out about this place still. Relax, Steve. It's been just two days. Can't expect to learn everything about a new world in two days.
He held an easy smile and cocked an eyebrow as he walked over to the register to shake Peter's hand. "You didn't think I'd show?" Steve would say that blowing people off was unlike him. Maybe other!Steve was different in some ways.
