Back in her home country of Amestris, Winry worked alongside her grandmother in their small automail shop in Resembool, and later, she went on to become an apprentice in Rush Valley, working for a more popular and busier automail engineer there. As a result, Winry had experience working in both a quieter setting and a busy one as well. When she opened her shop here in Preya, she realized that it was a bit of both worlds. Some days it was dreadfully quiet, while other days she seemed to never stop. Emergencies seemed to arise almost all at the same time, and while she could have easily used some help, she wasn't sure if she could generate enough busy work on the slower days to justify hiring a new employee.
Of course, for now it was just her taking on her clients on her own, which was fine. Who needed sleep anyway? She looked up from her work table where she was fussing with a metal hand when she heard someone at the door. "Coming!" Propping up her goggles up on her head, she hopped off her work stool and headed over to the front of the store to greet her new customer. "You must be Annabelle," she said with a grin and extended her hand for a shake. "Thanks for coming."
She had to admit that when Annabelle told her she was fully automated Winry couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement rush through her. She'd never worked on someone who was fully automated, and she was trying not to be rude and stare at her too much. She looked pretty remarkable, perhaps unlike anything Winry had ever seen in her entire life. Winry motioned for her to follow her into her shop. The place had more of a garage or car mechanics feel to it, but Winry appeared to be right at home amongst the grease-stained floors. She pulled out a chair for Annabelle to take a seat. "Tell me a little bit about yourself and what you're feeling," she said with a little nod. "I'll do a brief examination and then we'll take it from there."
