"Is it working?" He grinned, and well, that was partly true. He knew how to work people in most situations, a perk of the career choice. Though, this was just his normal very chill and outgoing personality. He might have wound up different had he not become a hero, but there was no reason not to embrace the friendly side. It definitely didn't seem to be hurting the whole date situation, even if he could just imagine Edgeshot rolling his eyes and calling him an idiot for flocking to older men so blatantly. "Damn. I think you definitely won't have any trouble in my case."
He gave a quick nod between bites, grinning a bit to himself, even if he made no real effort to hide it. "Most definitely." He poked around his food a bit more, mirroring the smirk. "Maybe in more than one way..." He gave a laugh, though, and well, that could be taken in multiple ways. Stuck to the bird jokes, or including eating other things, or maybe just sticking them in his mouth. That was the good thing about older company, you didn't need to filter yourself for sake of innocence preservation. "She sounds like an awesome woman. Makes sense... I think I'd like her!" Then again, from what he'd seen, the man's whole family was cute. Striking differences really.
He was happy to eat, and make small talk, the whole comparison about the cops and cases and popularity votes leading to their own. It was really interesting how things were so familiar and different at the same time. "You better." He nodded, raising a brow at the stutter before passing it off with a smile. "What's a Bunarnaby?" It was an intentional misspoken thing, but still. He'd heard of the Bunny.
The question did sober him slightly, and he took a moment to weigh whether or not he should actually talk about. Though, he supposed, the league of villains weren't here, and if they were, they didn't know him or no longer wanted him to join for whatever reason. "Well...I was doing some hero work, undercover, I guess. I thought I got a coded message, it wasn't." He gave a shrug. "It was a rookie mistake, but I won't lie that I love this culture. I was a hard worker, made it to the top ten when I was still a really young teenager, but I always just wanted...peace. You know?" He licked his fingers and made a grab for his napkin. "I wanted the world to just be a place where heroes weren't as needed as they were, or maybe just where it wasn't so dangerous to be one. We had villains everywhere, just waiting and wanting to kill just because they hated the culture we were in. Guess I understood that much about them."
