Truth be told, part of him did like the attention. It played a role in their lives as heroes, so you had to get used to it. Until there was him and Bunny, they didn't exactly necessarily co-op. Everyone was out for their own points. Then there was Kotetsu, who just wanted to be a hero. Who ticked off Agnes on a regular basis not giving a damn about her ratings. Point being, he couldn't help a bit of preening. Still, he was your typical dad through and through. Bad dancing, dorky puns, the works. It was part of his own charm, or something like it. "Already looking forward to it."
Now, he was sentimental. He had no interest in remarrying after Tomoe, so it was a decent deterrent when necessary, but really he just couldn't let go. What would Kaede think if he did? They could talk about that some other time. Kotetsu wasn't about to bring it up on their first date either... which reasoned that he would consider there being a second. He'd think about that later too. At the moment, he was choking on his ice water.
"I... ack...!" Between coughs there was some unintelligible mumbling while he got himself together and remembered what breathing was. Taking in a breath or two, he tried to feign as if nothing just happened, though there was still a strain in his voice from the coughing. "I might just have to settle on a goodnight kiss this time," he managed with a goofy yet endearing smile while he dabbed off his shirt and part of the table with his napkin. "Maybe I can get a name out of you after the next one." If the younger man decided that he wasn't too much of a dork to be seen with in public again. The date was still young.
