The Hulk wasn't exactly the best therapist that could be there for Bruce, he wasn't one to talk about PTSD, wasn't one to say 'you did all you could' and 'their deaths aren't on you', he was just one to say 'Thanos bad' and various other Hulk-like expletives towards Thanos. Every now and again he'd hear his voice chime in, or he'd subconsciously feel him pinch himself as if it how Hulk slapped him on the wrist when he was being an idiot. They'd reached a casual stalemate, but they still had a while to go. He didn't really have anyone aside from Tony that he could turn to in times like this.
Bruce looked over at Tony as he spoke, chewing on his food and swallowing as he listened to Tony speak. Huh. Tony really had a habit of surprising him. He could be strangely profound at times, and knew the right thing to say when he needed it, or sometimes the wrong thing to say that made him laugh when he needed it too. It felt great to have his friend here.
"And you call me the shrink," Bruce smirked, moving to drain the last of his glass and refilling it once more. At the mention of Tony possibly vanishing, Bruce had a moment of panic thinking of Tony crumbling away just like he'd seen Wanda crumble away. Biting his lip slightly, he hoped that when people vanished, they didn't crumble away like Thanos did.
What if the Ruler was Thanos? Shit. There was a nasty thought. How would they even know?
"I-- uh," Bruce shook his head slightly, smiling. "Thanks. I trust you too. I mean, you're the only one I can really go to with this. Well, you and..." Thinking of Betty made him remember that he made the few phone calls before he'd left. "You and Betty. She's... she was one of the ones that were lost. Rang her before I came here, spoke to her friend, she apparently saw it happen. And I rang Pepper. She's still alive over there." Bruce's smile felt a little awkward so he stopped, helping himself to more food.
"I'd prefer it if you didn't vanish," he spoke after a while, "if I could help it. I like having you here. And this stuff..." He waved his free hand slightly as if gesturing vaguely would do the job of pointing out the emotional baggage they were going through, "... we'll get through this. What's the saying? If you're going through Hell, keep going." Bruce raised his glass to that briefly before taking another sip.
