Overall, Christmas had felt underwhelming. Of course, there was still something in the back of Light's mind that was sure something was off. By now, he was sure that it wasn't just the change in scenery or lingering thoughts that he might actually be dead. Well, he still had those, but there was no denying that when L looked at him specifically, it was like he knew things Light didn't know, even though they had spent most waking moments with each other leading up to the detective's death.
Of course, he barely got through ripping the paper when it happened. Just a brush of the fingers and it hit him, full force, his eyes widening as his mouth fell open slightly. What might have felt like an eternity, left him turning to look across the room at L, then down at the black notebook still partly covered in paper before carefully pushing it back to reveal the white letters. He felt pale. It was his. Here. What did that mean? It had to be real, otherwise he wouldn't suddenly remember everything. He likely wouldn't be able to hide it, and attempting now would only draw more attention. What would L do, anyway? It wasn't like there was anything to prove now, so, he just looked down again, finally pushing off the rest of the paper before looking through the first pages, all of the names in his handwriting and then some. The ruler clearly expected something to come of this...
