Yves couldn't help but wince when he saw he'd startled Necrosis, purely out of sympathy than anything else. His gaze briefly went to what the angel clutched to his chest, but looked over at his face again when he spoke. Yves had been an archangel since God himself was created, he had had his wings longer than any other, and he'd flown in many different environments, some pleasant, others not so much. Seeing the way the other angel's wings were ratty and in need of preening made Yves even more sympathetic towards him.
The archangel hesitated slightly before going to sit next to Necrosis, making sure not to touch his wings in the process. He wasn't sure if Necrosis was the type of angel to be unnerved by even the accidental touch of another to his wings, but Yves respected him anyway, even though he wanted nothing more than to help him feel better and to groom his wings as best he could. Yves glanced at Necrosis out of the corner of his eyes, watching as the angel took the feather that was clutched to his chest and placed it inside the gift box. He could tell by the gentle touches to everything he held, the silver box, the thick blanket, the shield, the staff, and the feather as well. There was a story here, or a whole lot of stories, and Yves could practically feel the sorrow emanating from the other angel.
"You could say that," Yves shrugged, drawing his knees up and loosely hugging them. He was wearing a hoodie and trackpants, and the wind that picked up was making a few strands of his dark hair escape from his bun, but he didn't seem to mind. "I don't really sleep, so I was out flying, then I was walking and I saw you. Could've landed anywhere, so maybe it was luck." Yves turned to look at him, not staring as much as gazing curiously.
"Do you want to talk about it?" he asked, looking down at what Necrosis held so gingerly in his hands, and the way his wings were positioned, damaged by the salt water and the sand. It didn't matter that they were from different worlds, they were still both angels and Yves found himself glad that he wandered by this particular shore tonight, because clearly Necrosis was going through something, something he shouldn't be suffering through alone.
