It wasn't easy being a witch. Just because you were born with magic didn't mean you didn't have to work hard to learn how to use it. She often wondered what it would have been like to have been born to Muggles who knew nothing about magic, only to have them learn right along with her. Or worse, Muggles who didn't want her to learn how to control her magic at all. She thought that would be rather frightening. A witch or wizard who didn't know how to control their own magic was dangerous. Surely, Hogwarts would have tried to convince the parents, but what if they couldn't? Or what if things were different in other countries? The idea of not being able to control or express magic gave Tonks the creeps for sure. Maybe because her parents were always so good about helping her when her magic popped out of her before her Hogwarts days.
Tonks smiled at her widely and nodded. Magic could be amazing, though it could also be dangerous. She was always of the mind that magic itself was not evil, despite how some forms of magic were referred to as Dark Magic. But magic was neither good nor evil. Magic was just magic. It was the caster who decided what to do with the magic that made it good or evil. Her parents also made sure to remind her of the importance of using magic carefully and appropriately around others. It was a gift, but it had to be taken care of. "Oh! Gasoline! I think I know what that is. It's a liquidy thing that Muggles use when their motor vehicles are thirsty." She nodded at this, knowing she'd gotten the answer perfectly correct. It was great being half Muggle sometimes.
It was true that Tonks recognized the way she and Hina had been flirting lately. In all actuality, she'd gotten along with Hina right from the very start and felt comfortable with her right away. They laughed at all the same things, and after Hina told her about her experiences back home, Tonks wanted to hug her and protect her from anyone who would dare do her harm. She wasn't sure when it had happened exactly, but Tonks had all but forgotten about Ren. She certainly wasn't thinking about her right in that moment either. She watched the other girl curiously as her cheeks grew a bit red. Perhaps from the cold? But before she knew it, their lips were touching and they were even closer together than before. "Mmm... 'Suppose that's one way," she replied distractedly.
With her heart hammering in her chest, she smiled back at Hina before leaning in for another kiss. It felt so nice to kiss someone again, especially a girl as they were always so soft and supple, not that she couldn't also go for a rougher, manly kiss from a bloke but right now, she was enjoying this very much. "You warm enough yet," she asked, giggling a little before kissing her again. "Honestly, I could do this all night." What was cold anyway? All Tonks could feel was a heat radiating from inside her as she pressed her hips against Hina's. The hand that wasn't holding the flame glided over her body, feeling out skin and muscles and curves she might have quietly fantasized about before. "Should I nix the flame? Cause we're probably about to make an inferno if we keep this up."
