There were few things Denki hated more than studying. It wasn’t that he was a complete idiot, although class 1-A might say that was debatable. He just wasn’t good at it. He didn’t like paying attention for long periods of time to something that wasn’t directly related to hero training. The way math and science was taught didn’t make sense to him, and he knew he would be totally lost if it weren’t for the help of his friends. Bakugo in particular seemed to understand everything, and could even teach well when he was pestered enough. That was how he found himself in Bakugo’s room, hours later, finally remembering something about organic chemistry without wanting to pull his hair out. He’d ended up on the bed, leaning against a pillow by the wall and balancing a textbook on his knees. At some point Kirishima had joined, considerably brightening the mood. Snacks were opened and eaten and it was kind of a wonder how Bakugo hadn’t kicked everyone out yet. It was a wonder they were still talking school after this long and when it had gotten so dark. Part of Denki wanted to leap out the window and go find doughnuts and never come back. “Can we take a break?” Denki asked, leaning back and staring up at the ceiling. “I don’t want to think anymore. I don’t know if I can think anymore. It’s like I fried my brain without frying it.” He put his textbook aside, stretching his arms above his head, then slumped over completely on his side. It wasn’t that different of a feeling from going over his wattage limit. At least, it had a similar buzzing in his head component that Denki was not a fan of recalling. He put the open textbook over his head just to block out the room. “Let’s just hang out, Kacchan.” he mumbled, lifting the book up and looking exceptionally cheeky for using the nickname. “Please? What’d ya say?” |
