Madison looked up tentatively to the man and then to the girl on the ice. She smiled politely and seemed to watch how the girl stood with ease on the ice.
Jeannie's smile widened as she helped her daughter carefully onto the ice. The four year-old was wobbly and held on tight to her mom's hand.
"I thought it'd be good for her to learn how to skate, especially with the winter weather. Plus everyone back home starts learning around now usually." Old habits died hard.
