Besides what happened with Nagisa, the rest wasn't all that bad. Haru was really just more Haru like and him? He sort of missed that unfamiliar sense of bravery. Like he could have run into a burning building or whatever else it took to save someone. He wanted to go when Jesse went to get Nagisa, but he was pretty insistent that he didn't want any of them around in case something happened he couldn't account for. It made sense. Makoto was just relieved when he called to tell them he had both Nagisa and Asahina. He was still worried about their hyper friend, but he thought about what the situation must have done to Asahina too. Hopefully soon she would come around so they could talk and move on from it.
"Probably so," he agreed, considering for a second how long that might be or to what degree this time around, but with Preya it seemed hard to tell. Focusing on Haru was better than worrying things they couldn't even guess at yet. As long as he was here with him, Makoto knew they could make it through anything. Without him, keeping Makoto as even as he usually was would be some kind of task. Fortunately for him, Haru was here, so he didn't have to think about how he could manage without him.
He didn't want to think of the small bit of paranoia that cropped up over that same fact when people disappeared all the time, but he didn't want to think about that now when he was already tired himself. "I'm sure he'll like that." He nuzzled into Haru's neck with a soft sigh, enjoying just leaning against him a little bit longer. They could plan more for Nagisa with Rei and everyone in the morning. Getting in bed with Haru and letting the day end sounded really nice just about then.
A few months ago, that question from Haru would probably have made him blush and flustered, at least a lot more than he was now. He placed a few kisses against Haru's neck, his hands moving along his stomach so he could take the dark haired boy's off first. "It's usually better that way, isn't it?" He breathed softly against his ear, met with the familiar fabric of Haru's jammers underneath. At least there were some things that would never change.
